Add AC Repair and Service to Your Spring To-Do List

April 28, 2016

Spring has arrived. We know your to-do list is likely long, but we have some things you can do that will save you from potential issues and keep you comfortable during the summer months. When the weather heats up in Portland, an AC repair is the last thing you want to worry about. Use this checklist to save yourself from sweating throughout the summer.

  1. Inspect Your Air Filter and Ducts
You’ve read this here before. Changing your air filter is extremely important and very often overlooked by homeowners. A dirty air filter makes your system work a lot harder to keep your home comfortable. Hard work means less efficiency and additional money. Plus, it causes avoidable wear and tear on your system. People also forget their ducts and registers. It’s a good idea to pull out the covers from your registers and vacuum them. Then you can soak the covers in mild dish soap, clean them if needed and reattach when they’re dry.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep debris like grass clippings, leaves and plants distant from your outside unit. Debris can obstruct your system and reduce its efficiency.
  3. Make an Appointment for Your Annual AC Tune-Up
Here’s where Three Rivers Heating & Cooling can help with that spring cleaning list. Having annual AC tune-ups extends your system’s life and helps it stay running at peak efficiency. It’s best to schedule your tune-up in early spring so any AC repairs can be completed before summer brings the heat. When you think about the value of the life of your system, the cost of a tune-up is a nominal investment.

While we may not be able to assist you with all the tasks on your spring to-do list, we can help you with all the things that impact your home comfort. We’ll help you stay cool and comfortable throughout summer. If you have any questions about your home comfort or you want to schedule your annual AC tune-up, call us at 503-213-4433.
